Our Story

Fang Shui began as a passion project long before it had a name. What started with two people deeply invested in dog behaviour, training theory, and hands-on work naturally grew into a small, dedicated training academy.

Founded by Junior Mukala and Kiarin Naidoo, Fang Shui is built on practical experience - long training days, decoy work, and a shared commitment to bringing out the best in every dog. Our approach centres on calm, clear, intentional training that respects both the dog and the craft.

Whether we're helping a family raise a well-mannered puppy or developing a young working prospect, our focus remains the same: build capable dogs and confident handlers through structured, honest communication.

Fang Shui didn't start as a business - it started out of passion. That's the part we plan to keep at the core of everything we do.

The Team

Junior brings almost twenty years of hands-on experience in raising, developing, and training working dogs across a wide range of disciplines.

Over the years, he has supplied well-trained dogs to security companies, prepared dogs for deployment in anti-poaching units on game farms, and developed personal protection dogs capable of performing reliably under real-world pressure. Junior has a deep understanding of what makes a strong working dog, from genetics and early development to mature training and deployment.

What sets Junior apart is his calm, intuitive approach and the consistency that comes from decades of practical experience. He is known for producing dogs with confidence, stability, and purpose-dogs that are not only capable in their work but well-prepared for the environments they’ll be placed into.

Kiarin’s journey into dog training began unexpectedly. After adopting a reactive pitbull, he was pushed to learn about communication, behaviour, and structured training at a deeper level. That experience sparked a passion that ultimately led him into the world of working dogs, where he found his true direction.

He is particularly driven by building dogs with purpose-dogs that are confident, capable, and prepared for the roles they are trained for. His approach prioritises clarity, intention, and always striving to raise the standard in the dogs he develops.

He values the relationship between dog and handler just as much as the technical work. Kiarin aims to give owners the structure, understanding, and confidence they need to bring out the best in their dogs, no matter their goals.
